Artist's Description

Approaching the Tlingit village of Kake, on Kupreanof Island in southeast Alaska. The brightly colored buildings reflect in the water, but it isn't until we get close up that we realize that the buildings are under repair from storm damage.

About Maxine Kamin

Maxine Kamin

Maxine Kamin was born in Jersey City, NJ, during the postwar Baby Boom and grew up in Yonkers, NY. After retiring from a gratifying thirty year career in the library field, Ms. Kamin eagerly pursued the goal of becoming a photographer. Her love of travel and enjoyment of nature and the outdoors are often evident in her work. A New Paltz resident for 35 years, she now resides with her husband, Marc, on the west bank of the Hudson River in Port Ewen, NY. Kamin is a member of the Ulster County Photography Club, Mohonk Preserve Volunteer Photographers and ASK (Arts Society of Kingston). Her work has been shown at ASK (duo show), solo shows at the Elting Memorial Library, La Bella Pizza Bistro and The Bakery in New Paltz, as well as numerous ...
